Pre-1999 Remington Copper Solid Ammunition is not recommended for use in Hastings Barrels.

We at Hastings are concerned about customer safety. Our barrels are manufactured using the highest quality steel and modern production methods. Each barrel is independently proof tested, and we have a consistant history of safety and superior performance.

We have observed that some of Hastings' replacement barrels have been damaged when customers used pre-1999 Remington Copper Soilid Sabot Ammunition with the specifications below:

Hastings manufactures many interchangable replacement barrels for pump and automatic guns. The original manufacturer's design for some barrels require thin walls to achieve light weight and balance. We believe the design of the above Remington Solid Sabot Ammunition causes some of the thin-walled barrels to bend.

We do not recommend the use of the pre-1999 ammunition in any Hastings product. Hastings will not be responsible for any damage incurred while using this ammunition. If you are in doubt about the age of identity of your ammunition, stop and seek professional advice before proceeding to use any Remington Copper Solid Ammunition in your Hastings shotgun barrel. Although the damage reported to date is bending of the barrel, this is no assurance that even more serious damage or injury could not occur. For this reason, you should know that you are assuming any such risks if you use the pre-1999 ammunition in Hastings barrels.
